Two Individuals Accused with Jail Killing of Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins

Two men have been formally charged with murder following the jailhouse death of former Lostprophets singer and convicted child sex offender Ian Watkins.

Rashid Gedel, 25, and Samuel Dodsworth, 43 now face murder accusations and are set to face Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per law enforcement officials.

Watkins, 48 years old, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, alongside six more years under supervision, after admitting a string of sex offences including the tried rape of a very young child.

Watkins was apprehended subsequent to a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a significant quantity of computers, mobile phones and data storage units were seized.
