An 15-year-old youth has been sentenced to life incarceration with a base term of sixteen years for the murder of another student the deceased during a midday recess.

The perpetrator stabbed Harvey, who was also fifteen, through the heart with a hunting knife at the educational institution in February.

The presiding justice lifted the identity protection order on the perpetrator during sentencing at Sheffield Crown Court.

Relatives Statement

The victim's mother stated she felt "as if a big load has been removed off my back" following the judgment.

Court Proceedings

During the court case, the accused claimed he had not intended to murder the victim or cause him grave injury, stating he could not recall what had occurred.

The prosecution maintained that he had "intended to show he was tough" and "was aware exactly what he was performing".

"You acted as the instigator and... you behaved in distress and rage at what you viewed to be his betrayal of your relationship," declared the justice during the punishment phase.

Aftermath

The educational institution released a statement stating that the pupil was "dearly missed every daytime by the entire educational community".

Police officials stressed the devastating consequences of possessing blades, commenting that a "instantaneous decision" can forever change numerous lives.
